"Rose occasionally reminds me of a less-troubled
Daniel Johnston... Rose is still at his best when he's spinning
his tales over a simple acoustic guitar" - Splendid E-Zine

angels
with only one wing
is the sixth album by brad rose.
it was recorded between march and october of 2003 in tulsa,
ok and seattle, wa. he is helped on a few tracks by ammon
taylor (piano), matt
hopper (upright bass), and eden
hemming rose (vocals). multiple layers of
instrumentation are used throughout, and the lyrics are stronger
than past efforts. writing about your own albums is very strange,
so i'll just tell a story instead. one time when i was younger,
i was attending a small party during december in oklahoma.
it was really cold out, but we had made the infamous hot buttered
rum. it eventually started snowing out (and there was already
snow on the ground), but we were so hot/drunk from the booze
that a group of about 6 of us had stripped down to our underwear.
the house the party was at was across from a park, so we thought
it'd be a good idea to go play on the jungle gym. we did this
in our underwear in 30 degree snowy weather. it was a very
punk rock moment. this album is digi001.
