mason jones has been releasing and creating spaced-out bliss music for over 15 years under the moniker trance, and now under his own name. "dimly recalled" compiles two live performances from april in davis, california. these 10 tracks of solo electric guitar are mind-bending. they are like ivy climbing the walls, searching out solar flares with their skybound tendrils. half these songs were recorded in an abandoned bunker, and the exquisite natural reverb is beautiful. the music moves slow and as it unfolds, creates a sense of urgency that the end is coming, but there's still so much left to say. jones never leaves a note or idea behind, though. his talent keeps everything in check and flowing like a sacred river of ice. 100 copies
