Let the drums sound! The battle against the unchecked American war machine is gathering steam. The Pennsylvania collective known as Peacefeather are sending out the first volley of good vibrations aimed at levitating the Pentagon one more time. A message is sent: doom, destruction, and catastrophe ? the leaders of the country can have it all. What we want is freedom, communication and satisfaction! Huh???
Peacefeather are a relatively new communal music making organization, imbued with the spirit of 70?s Krautrock rhythms and featuring ear-boggling electronic atmospherics. There is a seriousness to their music that is often lacking in some of the other groups that are also classified by the widely cast net that describes the American underground music ?scene.? While there is a definite sense of freedom and improvisation, the reins are drawn in at the right times with anchoring rhythms and a sense of structure. The 10 tracks that make up this debut flow together seamlessly, and the infectiousness of the music keeps you coming back for more. Don?t let the name Peacefeather fool you, these guys RAWK! 8/10 --
