Minimal keyboard pieces with more than a little debt to Another Green World-era Eno. This works as what Erik Satie calls ?furniture music,? but even at that, there is very little sonic variation here. On the last few tracks of this 10-song, 21-minute album, things finally get a little more distended and upsetting ? ?of his 24 whistle tricks? is a dissonant knot, and ?your God-fearing brand? is basically one sustained suspended chord. But mostly, warm washes of major-key synth melodies dominate, and they don?t do too much to distinguish themselves. 5/10 --
