This was recorded in 2005, but recently remastered by noise guru, Weasel Walter and re-released in December 2007 by Yosada Records. I had not previously heard the UK based Hunting Lodge and my initial reaction after only three songs was? Fuck yes! I mean, this is the kind of record that should be on top lists for the year? sick! I immediately started looking up info about them. Terry Edwards who has played with Test Dept., Lydia Lunch, and Nick Cave guests on the record contributing some ripping sax action. I?m thinking this must really be something? seriously some of the best frenetic-noise-rock I?ve heard in years. Loud, frantic, disjointed guitar, fuzzed-out bass, heavy tom action from an incredible drummer? chaotic, total ecstatic intensity and yet? ?what the fuck?! They?re broken up? Yep. No more. Over. Sayonara. And what?s more, they only broke up right before the re-release. Talk about giving the shaft to all of us. I say? fuck it; it?s still an amazing record, and I?m sure we haven?t seen the last of these guys.
