Early evening as the jazz club winds up with drums and trumpets. The rhythm is infectious and simply tapping your foot ain't gonna stop this energy and excitement. Each expertly played instrument jumps into the roving spotlight, bringing to mind those one-syllable words like flow and jive and groove and swing. This British jazzfest may as well have come from Louisiana, except it's got that Old World polish on top.
The album is a digital remastering of an improvised performance in 1972, and the quality couldn't possibly be better. Exquisite sax wails and cool bass thumps that sound as clear as if they're being played in your own bedroom, if your room had the best acoustics imaginable. 10/10 --
