As "underneath the jesus tree" finally gears up for its release, i come with exciting news from the western front. the proper follow-up album to "the jesus tree" is called "in the time of the sugar pines." music fellowship and new american folk hero have joined forces to give this little lady a release on proper CD. seven brand new songs, harvested from my non-existent backyard over the course of 2005. peter wright guests on one song, even. so be on the lookout for this later in 2006, and be sure to check out "underneath the jesus tree," available from barl fire, soon.03-21-2006
he North Sea "Nocturnal Birds" released & more
Students of Decay has released the first volume of their "Creeping Dawn" 3" boxed sets. The set contains four 3" CD-Rs, one each by The North Sea, seht, Keijo, and Heavy Winged. We got our copies yesterday and they look fantastic. The North Sea contribution is a 19-minute piece entitled "Nocturnal Birds." It's the companion track to the closing song on "Underneath the Jesus Tree," entitled "The Morning Birds." Head over to SoD's website and get your copy while you can as it's strictly limited to 50 copies.In other news, The North Sea/Rameses III collaboration album, "Night of the Ankou," will be reissued later this year on CD by the good fooks at Type, complete with a bonus remix track done by Type figurehead, Xela.
Other project news... Alligator Crystal Moth's "Spectral Lysergics" CD will be available by April from Digitalis and MYMWLY. And The Juniper Meadows' "Jacaranda Twilight" should be out on Deserted Village before too long.
